Heritage-rich Ethiopian coffee, chosen with care for flavor and aroma.
Rich Ethiopian coffee heritage, generous hospitality and beautifully expressive coffee — shared from our corner of Seattle to your cup.
Global roots, local heart
Kaffa is more than a name. It points to the Ethiopian highlands at the heart of coffee’s origin story — a place where a cup is welcome, conversation and time shared.
We are building a collection of beans, brewing pieces and subscriptions inspired by that spirit. Thoughtful, welcoming and made to bring a little more connection to the everyday.

Heritage & culture
In Ethiopia, coffee is an invitation to be present.
The traditional ceremony begins with green beans roasted for guests. Their aroma fills the room before the coffee is ground, brewed in a clay jebena and poured into small cups. The pace is intentional: stay, talk, listen.
Kaffa takes inspiration from that hospitality. Our vision is to honor Ethiopian coffee traditions, build fair relationships with farmers, roast with a minimal carbon footprint and create more room for our Seattle community to connect.
From the journal
Notes on origin, ritual and simple ways to make coffee feel like shared time.
Our name points to the Ethiopian highlands at the heart of coffee’s origin story—and to a culture where a cup makes room for welcome.
For Kaffa Coffee Company, origin is more than geography. It is a reminder that coffee begins with land, people and patient work long before it reaches a roaster.
That perspective shapes what we hope to build in Seattle: expressive coffee, thoughtful relationships and a place where conversation matters as much as the cup.
The ceremony begins before the first pour. Green beans are roasted for guests, filling the room with aroma and anticipation.
After roasting, the beans are ground and brewed in a clay jebena, then poured into small cups. Each step is visible, deliberate and shared.
The unhurried pace is part of the gift. It invites everyone to stay, talk and listen—a spirit of hospitality we carry into every Kaffa gathering.
Fresh coffee, good water and a little attention are enough. Start with a simple ratio, then adjust until the cup feels like yours.
For pour-over, try one gram of coffee for every sixteen grams of water. Grind medium, wet the grounds and give them about thirty seconds to bloom.
Continue with a slow, even pour. Taste before changing anything: a slightly finer grind brings more extraction, while a coarser grind brings less. Then share it while it is warm.
A simple brew guide
Great coffee starts with fresh beans and a little attention. This is an easy place to begin — adjust it, make it yours and share the cup while it’s warm.
